The Smart Investment for London Homeowners

Solar panels aren't just good for the planet — they're one of the best financial investments you can make for your home. Pair a system with an air-to-air heat pump and you can run your cooling and winter heating largely on your own generation. The MCS certified engineers who design your system are the same ones who fit your boiler installation, so the whole system is specified by one company rather than three.

Cut Your Energy Bills
Generate your own electricity instead of buying it. What you save depends on your roof, your usage and your tariff — we model your actual figures at the survey rather than quote an average.
Earn from Excess
The Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) pays you for surplus electricity exported back to the grid. Your roof literally makes you money.
Improve Your EPC
Solar improves your EPC rating, which is increasingly what buyers, lenders and letting rules look at. Any specific uplift depends on your property and the market — we will not pretend to know it.
Battery Storage
Store excess energy during the day and use it at night. With battery storage, you can power your home 24/7 from solar.
Carbon Reduction
A typical solar installation saves 1.3–1.6 tonnes of CO₂ per year. Reduce your carbon footprint without changing your lifestyle.
0% VAT
Until March 2027, solar panels for residential properties are zero-rated for VAT. That’s a 20% saving on installation costs.

From Roof Assessment to Power Generation

Our comprehensive approach ensures your solar system is perfectly designed for your property and energy needs.

01

Free Roof Assessment

We assess your roof orientation, pitch, shading, and structural suitability. Using satellite imagery and on-site surveys, we design the optimal panel layout.

02

Planning & Design

Most residential solar doesn’t need planning permission (permitted development). Where it does, we handle the entire application process for you.

03

Professional Install

Our MCS-certified engineers install your system efficiently, typically in 1–2 days. Minimal disruption, maximum quality. Full electrical safety certification included.

04

Generate & Earn

Your system starts generating from day one. We register you for Smart Export Guarantee payments and provide monitoring so you can track your savings.

What Could Solar Save You?

The average London home with a 4kW solar PV system can expect significant savings from year one. With battery storage, you can maximise self-consumption and minimise grid dependence.

London receives approximately 1,500 hours of sunshine per year — more than enough to generate meaningful energy savings. South-facing roofs are ideal, but east-west configurations also perform well.

Illustrative: Typical 4kW System

Figures below are illustrative for a typical unshaded south-facing 4kW system in London. They are not a quote and are not guaranteed.

Annual Bill Savings£800 – £1,200
SEG Income (export)£100 – £200/yr
System Payback Period6 – 8 years
25-Year Net Savings£15,000 – £25,000
CO₂ Saved Annually1.3 – 1.6 tonnes
Panel Warranty25 years

What you actually save depends on your roof orientation and pitch, shading, how much electricity you use during daylight hours, your tariff, and the SEG rate you sign up to. Energy prices over 25 years cannot be predicted. We model your real figures at the free survey.

Solar Panel FAQ

Do solar panels work in London's climate?
Absolutely! Solar panels work with daylight, not direct sunshine. London receives around 1,500 hours of sunshine annually, and panels generate electricity even on cloudy days. Germany, with less sunshine than London, is the world’s largest solar market — proving solar works brilliantly in our climate.
Do I need planning permission for solar panels?
Most residential solar installations fall under “permitted development” and don’t need planning permission. Exceptions include listed buildings, conservation areas, and installations that protrude more than 200mm from the roof surface. We’ll advise during your free assessment and handle any applications if needed.
How much do solar panels cost in London?
A typical 4kW residential system (suitable for a 3-4 bedroom home) costs between £5,000–£8,000 including installation. With the current 0% VAT rate, there’s never been a better time. Battery storage adds £2,500–£5,000. We offer finance options to spread the cost.
What is the Smart Export Guarantee?
The Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) is a government-backed scheme that requires energy suppliers to pay you for surplus electricity you export to the grid. Rates vary by supplier (typically 3–15p per kWh). We help you register with the best available SEG tariff.
Should I get battery storage with my solar panels?
Battery storage significantly increases your self-consumption of solar energy — from around 30-50% without a battery to 70-80% with one. This means more savings and less dependence on the grid, especially during expensive evening peak hours. We recommend it for most installations.
How long does solar panel installation take?
Most London homes are done in one to two days, scaffold up to system live. The survey and the paperwork take longer than the fitting: we assess roof orientation, pitch, shading and structural suitability first, then register you for the Smart Export Guarantee afterwards.
Do I need a south-facing roof?
No. South facing gives the best output, but east and west facing roofs work perfectly well and simply generate a little less over the year. An east-west split can actually suit some households better, because it spreads generation across the morning and the evening instead of peaking at midday when nobody is home.
Will solar panels damage my roof?
Not when they are fitted correctly. Mounting brackets fix to the rafters, not to the tiles, and every penetration is weatherproofed. The survey checks whether your roof structure can carry the load before anything is ordered. If your roof is near the end of its life, we will tell you to replace it first rather than fit panels onto it.
Can I fit solar panels in a conservation area or on a listed building?
It is more involved but often still possible. Solar panels usually fall under permitted development, but that permission is restricted in conservation areas, on listed buildings and where panels would face a highway. In those cases you need planning consent from the borough, and we will tell you at the survey which category your property falls into.
