Drain Unblocking for Blocked Drains in London

Blocked drains across Greater London and Essex, quoted before anyone starts. We clear blocked kitchen sinks, toilets, baths, showers, kitchen waste and outside drains, including the inspection chamber. Tell us what is backing up, and whether it is one fitting or several.

Blocked Drains We Clear

A slow kitchen sink and a blocked outside drain are both drain unblocking. The visit depends on which one you have, and on whether the blockage is inside the property or in the chamber outside.

Blocked kitchen sinks
Water sitting in the bowl, a gurgle, or one side of a double sink emptying into the other. A blocked kitchen sink is a drainage visit on its own. You do not have to wait until the rest of the house stops draining.
Blocked toilets
A flush that comes back, or a water level that keeps rising. If the pan is already full, stop flushing so it does not overflow. Tell us that when you call.
Blocked baths
Water that stays around the plug after the plug is out. If the basin in the same room still drains, say so. That points to the bath waste rather than the whole bathroom.
Blocked showers
A tray that fills while the shower is running, or a waste so slow the shower cannot be used. Both are drainage jobs. A slow shower and one that has stopped completely are worth the same call.
Blocked kitchen waste
The pipe under the sink, rather than the bowl itself. On that job the waste is opened over a bucket and a drain machine is connected. One of the clips below is that visit.
Outside drains and manholes
The cover comes off and the inspection chamber is checked. When the blockage is outside, the hose runs from the van into that chamber. Three of the clips below are from those visits.

One Fitting, or the Run Outside

The useful detail is not only which fitting has stopped. It is whether the rest of the house is still draining. That is the difference between a waste under the sink and a chamber in the ground.

Only one fitting is slow
The kitchen sink is backing up and the bathroom is normal, or the shower tray fills while the basin beside it is fine. The blockage is usually on that one waste, so the visit starts there.
More than one fitting backs up
The toilet rises when the sink empties, or a bath and a basin stop together. They are sharing a run. Tell us every fitting that is affected, not just the one that overflowed first.
It is happening outside
Water at a gully, a smell from a chamber, or drains backing up through the house points outside. We lift the cover, check the chamber, and tell you what we find before any further work.

Drainage Visits, Filmed on the Job

Four clips from real visits. Three are outside: the van is on site, the cover comes off, and the hose runs into the inspection chamber. One is under a sink, with the waste open over a bucket and a drain machine connected.

Cover off, and the inspection chamber checked.
The van open on site, then the chamber.
The hose run from the van into the chamber.

What Happens When You Call

Drain unblocking in London is booked as a visit to a particular blockage, not as a flat call-out with a guessed price. The more precisely you can describe it, the more useful the quote is.

What we need from you
Which room, which fitting, and whether anything else is backing up. A rising toilet, water at an outside gully, or a smell from a chamber all change the visit. A photo of the cover helps if you can see one. You do not need one to book.
The quote comes first
There is no single price for drain unblocking in London. A blocked toilet, a kitchen waste, and an outside chamber are different jobs. You get the quote once we know which one it is. Work does not start until you have it.
You are told what we find
Inside, the waste may be opened over a bucket. Outside, the cover comes off and the chamber is checked, with the hose run in from the van when the job needs it. We say what we have found before any further work.

Blocked Drains Near You

We cover drain unblocking across all 32 London boroughs and the City of London, plus Essex. Hackney is the one borough with its own page: terrace yards, shared stacks, and the office next door at 640 Lea Bridge Road, E10, change the visit. Greenwich, Bexley, Wimbledon and the rest of the patch are booked from this page. The borough list further down is that coverage. If you are just outside it, call and ask rather than assume we cannot reach you. The areas we cover for heating and plumbing are the same ground.

Drain Unblocking FAQ

Yes. Drain unblocking across Greater London and Essex covers blocked kitchen sinks, toilets, baths, showers, kitchen waste and outside drains, including the inspection chamber. Tell us what is backing up, and whether it is one fitting or several. We say what the visit involves before work starts.
There is no single price. A blocked toilet, a kitchen waste under the sink, and an outside chamber are not the same job. We quote the visit once we know what is blocked and where. Work does not start until you have that quote.
When the blockage is outside, we lift the drain cover and check the inspection chamber. The hose runs from the van into that chamber when the job needs it. The outside clips on this page are from those visits. We tell you what we find before any further work, and the cover goes back on when the check is done.
Yes. Blocked toilets, kitchen sinks, baths, showers and kitchen waste are drainage jobs we take. A slow waste and a drain that has stopped completely are both worth a call. If the pan is already full, stop flushing and tell us that when you book.
If only the kitchen sink is slow, or one side of a double sink drains into the other, the blockage is usually on that waste rather than in the chamber outside. Say what else in the house is still draining normally. That is what decides where the visit starts.

We cover drain unblocking across all 32 London boroughs and the City of London, plus Essex. Hackney has its own page, because terrace yards and shared stacks change the visit there.
