How long does a boiler service take?
A straightforward annual service usually takes under an hour. It runs longer if the engineer finds something that needs attention, because the checks are not worth rushing: flue gas analysis, gas pressure and flow rate, seals and gaskets, electrical connections and system pressure all get done properly or not at all.
Will an annual service keep my boiler warranty valid?
In most cases yes, and this is the reason many people book one. Manufacturers typically require an annual service by a Gas Safe registered engineer, recorded in the benchmark book, as a condition of the warranty. Skip a year and you can find a claim refused later. Check your own warranty terms, because the requirement varies by manufacturer.
What happens if the engineer finds a fault?
We tell you what is wrong, what it will cost and how urgent it is, before touching anything. If it is a safety issue we will explain why the appliance cannot be left as it is. There is no obligation to have the repair done by us.
